Our Beetroot Rose Clay Face Mask Wins an Award!

Updated: Apr 3, 2023

We're excited to say that our plastic free and vegan friendly Beetroot Rose Clay Face Mask has won a 'Best Buy' award in the Green Parent Natural Beauty Awards 2022!

The Green Parent was established over 15 years ago when the first few issues were planned out "on scrap paper, in front of the fire." Today the magazine has an audience reach of 150,000 and it is stocked throughout the UK - a familiar fixture on the shelves of WHSmith and Boots. Inside its pages, you'll find a passionate team of writers and photographers, dedicated to discussing, sharing and celebrating all things eco-friendly, with a special focus on family life.

Every year, the Green Parent run their Natural Beauty Awards, judged by an independent panel of beauty experts who test each product. Categories include Hair care, Make up, Bath & Body and more, and the winning products and companies are showcased in the Green Parent's annual Natural Beauty Bible.

Battle Green's Beetroot Rose Clay Face Mask won 'Best Buy' in the Skincare category. To read more about the awards and discover some exciting eco-friendly, natural and vegan brands and products, visit The Green Parent Natural Beauty Awards 2022 page.

While many face masks come in single-use plastic packaging, our clay face masks come in a plastic free compostable sachet (including the label)! Each Beetroot Rose mask includes a blend of kaolin (that absorbs sebum, prevents pore clogging, and gently draws out impurities and toxins from the pores); bentonite clay (effectively absorbs dirt and oil, and can have a calming effect on inflamed breakouts); and arrowroot powder (shown to soften and soothe skin, and improve skin texture). You'll also find beetroot powder (a source of antioxidants, which have a revitalizing effect on the skin, while the lycopene and squalene present in beetroot can increase skin’s elasticity ); rose geranium essential oil (that can brighten, and help remove dead skin cells); and mango powder that can cleanse pores and improve the texture of the skin.

To use your clay mask, take a teaspoon of dry powder and add a few drops of water at a time, until your desired spreadable consistency is achieved. Apply the face mask paste evenly to clean skin, avoiding the eye area. Leave on for 5 minutes until the mask is partially dry (don't leave until it is completely dry and cracks). Gently remove with a wet cloth, then rinse your face to remove any remaining residue. Use once a week. Each sachet has enough for between 5-8 applications.

If you fancy trying one for yourself, head over to our shop where you'll also find clay face masks available in Chamomile (fragrance free) and Cocoa Ginger options 🌿
